Our adult day care programs help families manage the responsibility of caring for an elderly or disabled loved one while enhancing the quality of life for both our participants and their caregivers. The owners made a commitment from its inception to offer the highest quality of care to improve the quality of life and ensure maximum independence for the elderly and disabled population.
What is Adult Day Care?
Adult day care is a planned health program of activities for individuals 18 years or older who require supportive care during the day and can return home in the evenings. The benefits for participants of adult day services include:
- Mental, physical and social interaction and stimulation
- Self-esteem and dignity enhancement
- Independence promotion
- Delay or prevention of institutional/nursing home placement
- A safe and secure location for your loved one in a medically supervised environment
Placement in an Adult Day Center can provide much needed respite for a family caregiver to allow them time to work, attend to other family responsibilities, or just take a break from caring for their loved one.
Elements of Adult Day Care
New Generations Adult Day Center provides a comprehensive level of service and support for our participants as well as a very active daily agenda. New Generations can provide transportation for ambulatory as well as non-ambulatory individuals to and from their facilities. Morning and afternoon snacks are provided as well as a nutritious lunch which is approved by the USDA. Participants with dietary restrictions can be accommodated as well.
Each participant is under the watchful eye of registered and licensed nurses who monitor and attend to all medical needs. Activities are the bedrock of New Generations Adult Day Center. Whether it’s scheduled outings such as shopping, movies and lunch, or crafts and exercises, your loved one will have a very active day. Through trans-generational interaction, participants interact with various members of the community including gospel singers, speakers, and students earning high school credits. At our Adult Day Center, there’s always something fun to do! Each day our participants will have the opportunity to take part in various activities such as:
- Daily devotions
- Educational and informational presentations
- Entertaining outdoor activities
- Field trips and other exciting outings such as hayrides, shopping, community theater, bowling, talent shows, Special Olympics, and more
- Brain-stimulating activities
- Exercises such as walking, range of motion, and strength training
We offer special activities for participants with dementia that are supervised by a registered nurse and activities coordinator. New Generations Adult Day Center even has a special group called the “2:00 Club”, which emphasizes exercises and activities that focus on recall, reminiscing and sensory stimulation. New Generations provides a secured area including video monitoring as additional security for our participants. For all our adult day care programs, the staff provides supervision and motivation for individuals who may require assistance.
