We No Longer Offer Adult Day Care Facility Services

Alzheimer’s Daycare Unit Expansion

Alzheimer's care

New Daycare Unit

New Generations Adult Day Center is breaking ground at their Florence, SC location on a new Alzheimer’s/Dementia daycare unit.  This expansion was prompted due to increased demand from families looking for programs and services which are designed for care of loved ones with Alzheimer’s and other related diseases.  New Generations has over 15 years of experience in dementia care with the Adult Day facility as well as in client’s homes through their Homecare Division.  The growing number of seniors suffering from Alzheimer’s and related diseases justified the need for a dedicated facility.

Relaxation

John Belissary, one of the owners of New Generations, who also serves on the State Board of Directors for the Alzheimer’s Association, recognized the need for specialized care for Alzheimer’s patients has increased dramatically due to demographics of our aging population.  We understand that families caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s/dementia can be under extreme stress and desperately need a break, even if for a few hours each day.  The respite we provide allows a family caregiver a chance to recharge and attend to activities such as shopping, work or even some personal time.

High-Quality Care

The expansion will provide those suffering with Alzheimer’s/dementia an area which is secure and targeted to the needs of this population.  We have researched extensively with other providers such as residential and institutional facilities to incorporate features conducive for care of Alzheimer’s patients including color schemes, furnishings, and security.  While the new addition will facilitate care for our Alzheimer’s population, a primary benefit will be to the family caregiver who gets a needed break while entrusting their loved one to New Generations’ dedicated caregivers.  Dealing with a senior population, New Generations has always incorporated dementia training into our in-service modules but the dedicated area will now have caregivers specialized in Alzheimer’s/dementia care.  A separate area allows for more focused level of therapy, programs and care for our Alzheimer’s participants, but also provide the flexibility to accommodate the varying behaviors and different needs of attendees.

New Generations anticipates a late May completion of the facility which is located at 2111 West Jody Road in Florence, SC.  Should you need information regarding Alzheimer’s care, please call Michelle Bailey at (843) 629-0103.
