Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are valuable to the daily operations of New Generations Adult Day Center. Making a lasting impression doesn’t have to mean carrying out a major project or doing something extravagant. While doing a lot of little things everyday; you never know how you’ll affect someone.

Volunteer Opportunities

We welcome compassionate individuals interested in helping our participants get the most out of their experience at New Generations Adult Day Center.

Special Events

Various events such as our monthly celebrations, Special Olympics and field trips.

Lunch Assistant

Help during the lunch time hours assisting with beverage preparation, serving and clearing tables.

Art and Crafts

Either lead or assist with arts and craft activities.

Entertainment

Share your special talents in music, dance, singing, or storytelling.

Gardening

Assist with the planting of vegetables and flowers in our own handicapped accessible garden.

Exercise/Movement

Lead simple creative movement exercises.

There are many other satisfying volunteering opportunities available. Assignments are matched according to each volunteers’ skills and campus needs, making it a win-win for everyone.

Examples include:

  • Play games, cards or read to a resident
  • One-on-one visits
  • Helping residents address and write holiday cards
  • Accompany a resident on walks
  • Bring a trained pet for residents to enjoy
  • Lead a group of quilters
  • Accompany a resident to lunch in the dining room

Volunteer Qualifications

If you would like to volunteer with us, the following steps are necessary to be completed:

  • Step 1 – Completed application with references
  • Step 2 – Interview
  • Step 3 – Criminal history background check
  • Step 4 – Consider 2-4 hours per week commitment
